African Women Working Together With Team BIDEN-HARRIS To Create Real Change

OUR MISSION

Our Mission is to give African Women and other underserved communities an opportunity to create Social and Political Change by using their Voices.

OUR VISION

Our Vision is to advance democractic political agendas which create Equity and Social Justice for marginalized Communities in the United States of America.

OUR GOALS

Our goal is to support President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris fulfill their Political Governance as per their plans to lead us into a sustainable future and democracy.

WHO WE ARE

Women on a Mission

African Women for Biden-Harris is a coalition of African Women from across the Unites States who came together to rally the campaign to support Joe Biden’s run for Presidential Elections in 2020. We are unified behind Joe Biden because of his integrity, compassion, leadership and unrivaled.

It Begins with a WOMAN

It’s no surprise that grassroots women’s organizations are so successful. As women-led organizations, we have the best pulse on the state of women’s rights in our communities. Women are in the best position to know what changes are needed to protect the rights of women both locally and internationally. Working at the grassroots level, we are able to adapt to local needs while mobilizing community members to create positive change for all women and girls.

WOMEN CREATE REAL GLOBAL CHANGE

All women have the power to be Changemakers. Around the world, women are working together to dismantle barriers, challenge perceptions and improve the lives of women and girls in their communities. Our platform therefore supports global partnerships as we continue to advocate for not only women rights but also basic human rights. We must also find ways to break new ground and break down barriers which continue to hold women and girls back by being adaptive and innovative.

WOMEN FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19 PANDEMIC

The COVID-19 pandemic is harming health, social and economic well-being worldwide, with women at the centre. First and foremost, women are leading the health response: women make up almost 70% of the health care workforce, exposing them to a greater risk of infection. At the same time, women are also shouldering much of the burden at home, given school and child care facility closures and longstanding gender inequalities in unpaid work.

MLK DAY OF SERVICE

Observed each year on the third Monday in January as “a day on, not a day off,” MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities. AmeriCorps has been charged with leading this effort for the past quarter century.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

Marked annually on March 8th, International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also calls to action for accelerating gender parity. Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women’s achievements or rally for women’s equality.

LEADERSHIP

WHY WE MUST LEAD

Joe Biden laid out his foreign policy vision for America to restore dignified leadership at home and respected leadership on the world stage. Arguing that our policies at home and abroad are deeply connected, Joe Biden announced that, as president, he will advance the security, prosperity, and values of the United States by taking immediate steps to renew our own democracy and alliances, protect our economic future, and once more place America at the head of the table, leading the world to address the most urgent global challenges.

STRENGTHENING THE COALITION

Democracy is the root of our society, the wellspring of our power, and the source of our renewal. It strengthens and amplifies our leadership to keep us safe in the world. It is the engine of our ingenuity that drives our economic prosperity.

MORAL LEADERSHIP RESTORATION

Immediately end the horrific practice of separating families at our border and holding immigrant children in for-profit prisons. Abandoning our deepest-held values does nothing to increase security at our border—and everything to diminish our standing in the world.

THE FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19

Joe Biden has a real strategy to take on the threat of COVID-19, deliver immediate relief to working families, and reopen our schools and businesses safely.

ECONOMIC RECOVERY PLAN

In this time of crisis, Joe Biden has a plan to create millions of good-paying jobs and to build back better an economy that works for everyone.

AFFORDABLE HEALTHCARE

Joe Biden has a plan to build on the Affordable Care Act by giving Americans more choice, reducing health care costs, and making our health care system less complex to navigate.

CLIMATE CHANGE

Joe Biden knows there is no greater challenge facing our country and our world. That’s why he is outlining a bold plan – a Clean Energy Revolution – to address this grave threat and lead the world in addressing the climate emergency.

Joe Biden’s Jobs and Economic Recovery Plan for Working Families

In this time of crisis, Joe Biden has a plan to create millions of good-paying jobs and to build back better an economy that works for everyone. Biden believes this is no time to just build back to the way things were before, with the old economy’s structural weaknesses and inequalities still in place. This is the moment to imagine and build a new American economy for our families and the next generation.
An economy where every American enjoys a fair return for their work and an equal chance to get ahead. An economy more vibrant and more powerful precisely because everybody will be cut in on the deal.
